palm-pre-dstThe Pre has been experiencing a few issues since late last night with time and the switch to daylights savings times. Here in Arizona messages have been coming in with a timestamp of an hour earlier than the time sent even though the phone shows the correct time.

Others briefly had calendar issues such as the calendar thinking that it was December 1st. It seems like the Pre had a Y2K-like thing going on yet none of them crashed sending the world spinning. These kinds of issues though seemingly small are a bit harder to take care of and happen more often than one would imagine.

Have any of you experienced this issue with your Pre? If so where in the US do you live? Arizona doesn’t participate in the daylight savings thing but others outside of AZ are reporting issues as well. For me the timestamp issue is only on a Pre to Pre basis and only happens about 80% of the time off and on.

I’m in New York and yes my pre has had very weird happenings, in addition to the Dec. 1 issue. It started last weekend. All of the holiday and anniversary events are showing up one day behind. Halloween shows up on Nov. 1, election day and veteran’s day are also one day back, etc. Also, when I attempt to correct it, it reverts right back to the wrong date. Interesting to note; if I change the time zone from Eastern to Central or Pacific everything is correct, but when I change back to Eastern, they’re once again wrong. I’m hoping there is an update fix for this. It’s minor, but annoying. Very odd.

After the daylight savings switch, all of my all day recurring events were either on the wrong day, or became two day events or both. I’ve spent hours on the phone with Palm upper level tech support who told me I’m the only one having this problem, and that they are working on a fix. Still waiting.

I have been wondering if anyone was having the same problem as me. I have been seeing the clock off by 1 hour and then 1/2 and it is irritating, especially as I have always trusted my cellphone time as the one that is always right! This is not minor because I also use my phone calendar to manage my events and send reminders. I need a fix fast!!!
This is a big enough problem with me to part with my beloved Pre…i cannot have time issues.
