Drunk guy kills Pre in beer for an iPhone

We have all seen the drunks at the bar stumbling around bumping into things and generally acting crazy but have you ever looked over at a loud table to find some drunk drowning a Palm Pre of all things in a beer?
Apparently this was the third Palm Pre that the idiot had owned in just a three month period. The first two Pres he had kept having screens crack on him so his boss offered to buy him an iPhone if he killed his Pre once and for all so needless to say he did.
What have we learned? Despite a cracking screen, easily being scratched and having a weird track issue the Pre is pretty beer retardant lasting a significant amount of time submerged. I’ll be pretty upset the next time I bring my Pre in and they try to play the water damage card.

I had my speaker blow out on me, so I’m on #2 now. New one works like a charm though.

I’ve got my Pre at one of the German prerelease parties. Being a clumsy bugger I’ve already dropped it twice, failing to inflict as much as a scratch to the device, let alone cracking the screen. I realize that the lack of scratches is probably due to sheer luck, but still.
I really wonder if that guy just put his Pre in his back pocket and proceeded to sit his fat, American ass on it for hours on end every day so as to CRACK the screen. I for one wouldn’t trade my Pre for a phone that’s inferior in almost every way, even if it does have an Apple on it and is therefore the hippest thing you can own in the world.
