Enable LED notifications in webOS 1.2
| by Shawn Brown on October 4th, 2009 |
If you’re anything like me you have been waiting for those LED notifications on the Pre in webOS only to be disappointed that they were not included in the update as we saw in the videos demonstrating the changes. Turns out the code is there, just not activated.
Who knows why they did not make the notifications active in this release. It’s quite possible that they included the code so those who use homebrew hacks could enable it if they choose. Oh yeah, you’re a pretty simple activation away from having them work. The only thing is your going to need to have Preware installed on your Pre.
PreCentral forums gives very quick instructions outlining the easiest way to enable these LED notifications:
Open Preware, go to Available Applications > IPKG
Install autopatch-feed
Restart Preware, then go to Available Patches > Screen Lock
Install Enables LED Notifications
*Click OK on the prompt warning you about running the script.
Once it is installed, reboot your phone, go into Screen & Lock to enable Blink Notifications, and you should be all set!

How much is it possible?
