findapps_2009-25-09_075427As with most devices there are a handful of new problems replacing the old ones when a new firmware is introduced. The Pre is not exempt to this rule especially with the new webOS 1.2 and all of the problems that are being reported.

Many people are experiencing very low memory problems such as the too many cards open notice when there are only 3 or 4 cards open. Personally I have not yet run into this bug and I may not ever see it but it’s a fact that it is happening all over the place. Another problem that I personally have been experiencing is an inability to connect to Palm’s server when trying to download anything from the App Catalog. About one out of three times that I try to access the App Catalog and get the pictured notice.

Exchange users are also running into problems as Exchange Activesync is having issues with hosted exchange accounts including 1and1, 4smartphone and mail2web. There are many other inconsistent bugs here and there with downloadable apps but we won’t go into any detail because they are infrequent and tend to fix themselves. Having a problem with webOS 1.2 yourself? Please let us know in the comments.

I really hate the fact that even with 7GB of memory on my pre and no songs downloaded, I still have to remove apps to download new ones with the pre stating that there is not enough memory. I don’t understand why my app usage is limited, if I have plenty of available memory. This is soooo annoying. I was hoping 1.2 was going to correct this situation.

The “too many cards open” issue with 3 cards open happened to me a few times in webOS 1.1, but hasn’t happened yet in 1.2. As I only made the update last night, I’d say it’s entirely possible that it’s just an old bug that hasn’t been fixed.

Also, it may be just me, but I think my panels are actually moving a bit faster in 1.2, as far as animation goes.

I personally have it only when I open a certain web page. Try to open anything else and it warns me.

It was the same way with the T-Mobile G1 when it released. Not cool in my book.

After updating to OS 1.2 I’ve experienced a number of issues. My GPS locator seems to be a lot more off then before. NY Times doesn’t load as successfully as before. Experiencing a lot of issue with Pandora i.e skips, deletes radio stations I have to re-enter. GoodFoods app no longer loads maps from google like it did before. Accuweather sometimes doesnt load properly when I launch. The list goes on… I want this fixed asap. Maybe I should have went with an iphone?!?!
