How bummed were we all when we found out that the Palm Pre would come lacking any video recording support at all? These days it seems like an industry standard feature, heck even the iPhone which has lacked so many basic features since day one now has it.

Fear not there are many people out there who would kill for it and of course there are those out there willing to devote their time to making it happen weather Palm would like it or not. Bottom line is we will have video recording, may take a little bit of time to get there but people have reported success in this area over the last few weeks.

A sample video has been posted on YouTube showing just what the Pre is possible of. The Pre was able to shoot a 30fps 320×480 video with very little picture noise. The video came across pretty sharp with great color clarity. From what we have heard the Pre’s hardware supports up to 30fps shot in 720×480 so lets hope that we see a higher quality video application hit homebrew very soon.
