New webOS plugin gives support for other IM clients
| by Shawn Brown on September 28th, 2009 |
It’s great that Palm has the integrated AIM support but many of us do not use AIM. Alternately we may use Windows Live Messenger or Yahoo Messenger and are missing any support at all. The wait is getting shorter as there is now a plugin modfification for Windows Live Messenger in the works.
PalmInfoCenter reports that in its current state the plugin is just filled with bugs especially in the Synergy contact linking. The basic chatting with friends is working but we all know that the integration of a messaging client is far beyond just that.
If you’re asking when is this going to be available to test you you’re in luck, they hope to have this plugin out for public testing within the next few days just after they finish beta testing in on the webOS emulator. They also have Yahoo IM currently running with a move to Facebook as well as ICQ and IRCcoming very soon for those of you who cant live without.
