With webOS being primarily all in English there is a large problem for those in the US who would like to own the Pre but do not fully read and understand the language. Yes the Pre does have a very basic Chinese character support but it really does not make the experience much better.

Brunic realized this and has made the effort to localize his Pre in Chinese. From what we understand this takes a lot of manual reconfiguration which is no easy task in any way. Brunic believes that he now has the UI switched 99% to Chinese.

Brunic has given a brief written account as well as a number of pictures showing his work on localizing the Pre. Let’s just hope that the Pre becomes more widely available internationally because not many people have the knowledge let alone the desire to go through all of this just to understand what their phone is saying.
