findapps_2009-10-09_164523With all of the other handsets in the world getting a Google Voice app it would be tragic for those of us with the new Palm Pre not to have a piece of the cake as well. For a while those who use homebrew apps have a Google Voice application but now everyone can join the party.

Palm has just accepted gDial Pro into the App Catalog as an official application for webOS. The legitimate gDial Pro is a bit limited due to API limitations whereas the homebrew version goes a step further and has the ability to search through your contacts list.

Will Google launch an official Google Voice application in the future, we just don’t know but chances are we will eventually see one. Until then, gDial Pro is more than enough to hold us over. Let’s give them a hand for making the jump from homebrew to official app so quickly.
