For weeks we have been dying to figure out just when Canadian carrier Bell will be getting the Palm Pre. It appears with a little help from Future Shop and now directly from Bell we know that it will be available on Thursday, August 27th.

Future Shop as well as Bell are both currently accepting pre-orders on the Pre so if you have been waiting now is your chance. On the official Palm Blog they state that the Pre is available in Canada for $199.95 with a minimum 3 year contract and 500mb data plan, a bit steep don’t you think?

Now we have to ask, are you going to get the Pre right now on Bell or wait it out for Rogers or Telus?

A 500mb data plan is normal for most smart phones from bell, but I can’t help but wonder why the HTC touch smart phone http://www.bell.ca/shopping/en_CA_ON.HTC-Touch/96393.details which runs Windows Mobile allows you to “Get unlimited Web browsing on this phone for just $10/month.” Normally that plan is only available for java based phones, with this being the only smart phone that can use it. I wish I could get that plan for my pre since the cheapest 500mb/month plan is $45/month :(
