For those of us who have to constantly stay connected and are finding the lack of instant messaging services on the Pre a bit ridiculous there is no hope. IM+ for Skype and Shape Services is now available for the webOS as a web-based application.

Now use voice and text communications with other Skype users directly from your Palm Pre. Though it is not known just how a web app can enable full Skype functionality which it does offer the basics. Lets cross our fingers and hope that a native app will follow shortly.

When you initiate a Skype call from the web app it will then ring on the other users end and then right back on your phone. You can try this app free for 10 days before having to purchase it for $9.99. There are many users currently reporting connectivity issues so after giving it a try let us know what you think.
