Gary Koepke takes a moment to comment on weird Palm Pre ads
| by Shawn Brown on August 3rd, 2009 |
The ever so popular Palm Pre ads have been burning up the Internet all over YouTube and Twitter for a while now. These ads are popular for all the wrong reasons they get plenty of hits. Who is responsible for them you ask? His name is Gary Koepke of Modernista.

Koepke took the time to make a comment stating:
“It’s a very different look and feel for this sector,” Mr. Koepke said, comparing the humanized feel of Palm Pre’s ads to its competitors. “There’s nobody involved in an iPhone ad, and ‘Your life is on BlackBerry’ — isn’t that great? Instead of having a life? We wanted a middle ground between those two places — what about the people who want a really great smartphone?”
The idea behind the campaign was “human” which the team didn’t really get across very well. We can also be expecting more marketing efforts that take on a different audience in the near future including a “Bollywood Hero” sponsorship that includes SNL alum Chirs Kattan using the Pre in a small series of ads on IFC.
There have been plenty of YouTube videos hitting the net recently mocking the Pre ads, one of which by user mintit actually hit really close and made us bust up laughing at first sight. There were some others that were a bit strange to say the least, some of which are far more odd than the ads were to begin with. Have you put one together yourself? We’d like to see it. Share it with us here in the comments or in the Forums.
