thumb_450_webos-1-1_0Finally the Mojo SDK for webOS has been released and it appears to contain a few Easter eggs. Perhaps the most exciting is the confirmation of webOS 1.1 yet again. Would you like to see it for yourself?

Go ahead and install the Mojo SDK, open up the webOS emulator and make your way over to the settings page to find that the webOS version is indeed 1.1. We don’t need anymore convincing at this point but just when is it going to hit? If you set up the emulator to communicate with the exchange servers you will find that it does have the improvements said to be in the new version such as the ability to work with servers that enforce more stringent PIN requirements.

Since webOS is still a baby we should also expect to see such thing as improvements to UI animations and as always battery life improvement. July 22nd is the rumored date that everyone is going with for the launch of 1.1 so just wait a few days and we will see

Why do many of these articles re: the SDK release contain the word “finally”? You folks realise that Apple didn’t have an SDK or even an App store until over a *year* after the launch of the iPhone?

Anyway, taking a brief look, it seems quite easy to build apps if you are already familiar with web tech, so I’m sure it will be no time before we see a flood of new apps to the Pre (of varying quality, of course ;-)
