scratched-palm-preAccording to one Palm Pre user Sprint has been less than friendly with customers who are trying to exchange their handset, this may be due largely to the limited stock that they have on hand but at any rate the following scenario should never happen.

After having an issue with their first Palm Pre the user brought it into Sprint and they swapped it out for a previously used Pre. After noticing fingerprints and scratches on the device. They brought it to the employee’s attention and sure enough they admitted that it was used. Although there were Palm Pre handsets in stock that he would not exchange it for a new one for another month or so, why this is we have no idea.

A call to Sprints customer service department did not help either. The customer service representative actually suggested that the customer go the route of making an insurance claim and paying the $100 deductible. At this point I am afraid to even try with Sprint’s customer service reputation. I have already had less than desirable results when complaining about the Pre.
