So iTunes blocked your Pre, now what?
| by Shawn Brown on July 15th, 2009 |
Now that iTunes has decided to block your Pre and iTunes love affair many users are wondering how to sync music to their device. Making the Pre appear like an iPod was a clever move made by Palm but all things must come to an end sometime.

iTunes may be the easiest way for most people to sync music to their Pre there are a few other options so don’t give up hope just yet. If you own a Mac you can use The Missing Sync, if not there is DoubleTwist. Doing it manually isn’t bad either just plug in your Pre via USB and put it in USB Drive mode. From this point you can just drag and drop music as you like, not the neatest method by it gets the job done just fine.
It doesn’t look hopeful that Palm will come back for round two against Apple but we are all hoping for a media sync application from Palm that will be an easy solution for all users.

I’ll drag and drop my mp3 folder like I’ve always done (I’m a linux adherent, and iTunes has never solicit our business, nor offered an app), and if I want native song purchases on the device…Amazon seems to actually want our business.
Proprietary Exclusivity FAIL.
