webOS 1.1 confirmed

Not long ago we received word that webOS 1.1 would shortly be making it to user’s handsets and in quite a short time period as compared to other handsets such as Apple’s iPhone. Now it has been confirmed as Evgeny over at Palm webOS Blog has managed to get a chance to sit down with Palm UK.
Luckily their was a UK version of the Pre present and after a short glance at the Device Info screen it was undoubtedly running webOS 1.1.0. Those who know a thing of two about the improvements made to webOS 1.1.0 have stated that the Exchange security improvements are substantial and really give this handset a great opportunity in the Enterprise and Corporate handset world.
Unfortunately for non-Exchange users this update doesn’t appear to have many other major improvements. The Pre may or may not become more of a gaming handset like the iPhone but for now that is clearly not the primary focus. We would like to know what improvements you would like to see, maybe its a lot of these homebrew hacks becoming a natural part of webOS. Please let us know what you think in the comments.

Omfg!! Here goes sprint again focusing there attention on the business aspect of the phone! This plays a major role in why sprint has sucked it up for te past 4 years. You wanna know why the iphone is so successful? Its because the iphone is fun for every user! This is why people hack into phones. I do own the palm pre and worrying about stupid security update or corporate morons is the last thing pre users want!!! How about the more simple things like changin the frickin text notification sounds?? Or sumthin simple like forwarding a text?? Or tethering!? I mean cmon how r you not goin to have tethering?? Well thank god for hackers cuz you can get tethering on the palm pre!! God sprint ur making me regret I even resigned my contract with you!!!

You wanna know why the iphone is soooo great??!! its because You can change the notifications sound and you can forward and it has a CRAPLOAD of apps out! and it is FUN for every user!!! I own a palm pre and sprint is startin to make me regret that i even resigned my contract for another 2 years!! How about fixing the simple thing like forwarding or changin the textin sound. WHY do you keep focusing on corporate MORONS?? As a loyal sprint user since 2003, this pains me and gives me a migraine, because you think you would have learned you lesson after years of shitty phones and failed attempts to get the attention of non sprint users. YOUR PHONES SUCK and focus more on the entertainment side or style side. god sry i had to get that offf my chest!! Sprint you piss me off…

They just get a lot of business subscribers I guess. I don’t see the idea behind it. Thank god that we have command lines and a great deal of hacks already in the hopper to fix the unrounded edges of the Palm Pre.
