New Palm Pre ad airs, puts half of us to sleep

Back in June we saw the first TV spot for the new Palm Pre entitled “Flow”. Today we are seeing the second of the Pre ads and this one for some reason just rubs us the wrong way. Not that the iPhone ads are exciting but this for some reason makes you feel a bit uncomfortable.

Excitement is the last thing I felt when I watched this commercial as there really was not much to it. Put rudely this was a forest sprite talking over her shoulder about something that does not particularly pertain to the device. Yes you can effortlessly flick through the cards but the Pre has so much more to offer, why not focus on that?

Come on Palm, at least wow us with the visuals found on the Pre. Even flicking though wallpaper choices would have been more entertaining. The bottom line is the focus of this device is the revolutionary webOS, why show us teasers when the phone is already out? This commercial in no way made me want to go out and see what the Pre is all about. Give us a jaw dropping commercial that leaves us stunned or at least blind us with the flash, the iPhone could never do that. Just don’t demo the App Catalog with only 30 applications in it, please.
