Many Pre owners may find that landscape mode does not offer all of the same luxuries that portrait does such as the header, which includes the time, service and application menu. The screen widens to cover them up when you turn the device but it doesn’t mean they are disabled.

If you have not already figured it out on your own there is a trick to getting the application menu including the copy and paste menu working while still in landscape. Simply hit one of the volume keys and the header will reappear giving you full access to the menu for a short time that you didn’t have before.
