The WebOS App Catalog will be Palm’s version of the iPhone App Store, Android Market and BlackBerry App World. The Pre will be successful with or without apps at launch – there are only a doze or so slated initially – but half the fun is watching the apps roll out in the early going. Long-term though, WebOS App Catalog will have to be kick butt cause it has some stiff competition.

Fortunately we got a quick glimpse of the App Catalog thanks to still pictures taken by Engadget at D7:
