Before we catch you up with all the Palm Pre news we’ve missed over the past few days, I want to ask you a question: Would you like to write for PalmWebOS.org?

Who You Are: A Palm Pre & WebOS enthusiast who wants to share their excitement for “The Newness” but who can also write objectively and with the scope of the broader mobile market in mind.

What You’ll Do: Use your elite journalistic skills (samples please), tech knowledge and sense of humor to write timely articles about the Palm Pre and WebOS to help keep PalmWebOS.org and its community on top of the latest happenings, developments, opinions, rumors, applications and more.

What You’ll Get: Along with some inside access to applications, accessories and other perks we pry from sources using reverse psychology and hypnosis, you’ll get an awesome outlet and podium on which to voice your Pre-loving opinion. This is an unpaid gig but we’ll hook you up with goodies of sorts when we can. Not to mention… a nice Resume builder. You’ll also get a super-sexy @PalmWebOS.org e-mail should you feel so inclined!

How To Apply: Send an Email to Rob at PalmWebOS.org, replacing “at” with that little circly “@” sign of course. Include a short bio and make sure to tell us why you want to join the team, what you bring to the table and give us a little background on your tech knowledge and writing skills, too. You don’t have to be a Pulitizer Prize winner or anything, just someone who has decent grammar and writes in a conversational, entertaining and informative manner. We’re looking for someone who can contribute regularly and consistently – no one post wonders need apply.

On With The News: Hopefully the addition of a couple dedicated writers will prevent the below from re-occurring. We got WAY behind on the news and despite the help of several awesome tipsters (Especially Josh!), we’re dragging our feet a bit. You already know most or all of the below but look at it like this… you could be the answer to your own problem!

Glimpse at Palm Pre App Catalog
Way back in January, Gizmodo got a glimpse of the Palm App Catalog during their Pre demonstration and didn’t even know it (see pic below). Included in the early rendering of the App Catalog – of course it could have changed by now – were the following: Pandora, News, Twitter, Chess, Golf, Puzzle, Maze and A La Carte. [Via PreCentral]

Sprint’s Palm Pre Contest Reveals Some Interesting Math
Palm sent out an Email (on behalf of Sprint) to Pre Newsletter subscribers detailing a contest where two lucky entrants will win a Palm Pre with Simply Everything service and a Touchstone Charger. The contest details provide an assessment of prize value and after some fuzzy math by EngadgetMobile, it looks like the Palm Pre will be about $469.99 without any type of contract/rebate.

Palm Pre Unboxing at CES
I’m not sure how this didn’t get unearthed across the interwebz earlier, but at CES a Palm Employee seems to perform an unboxing as he unboxes the Pre to start the first demonstrations of the day. A piece of history, ladies and gents!

Palm Pre Box
If you’re looking for every morsel of Pre news possible, you’ll be happy to know that pictures of the Palm Pre Box were snagged by MaxPDA – we would send you over there to check out the full gallery but it isn’t in English so to please the largest amount of our readers, we suggest you head on over to IntoMobile for the goods.

Palm Set For Biggest Tech Turn Around Ever?
An article by 24/7 Wall Street listed the Top 10 Tech Failures of the past century. Coming in at #8? Palm! The others were: (1) Microsoft Vista, (2) Gateway, (3) HD DVD, (4) Vonage, (5) YouTube, (6) Sirius XM, (7) Microsoft Zune, (9) Iridium, (10) The Segway. If Palm could turn things around, and the Pre/WebOS looks like it could land a complete 180, Palm could enjoy the title of Biggest Turn Around the history of Modern Technology. That is what I call making the glass half empty a glass half full.

Palm Pre Arrives In Store!
Although it won’t be in the part of the store customers have access to, you can be sure the Palm Pre is in the same building you’re perousing when you walk into a Sprint Retail location. An image taken non-chalantly shows a regular dude, face and all, holding up the Pre in a Sprint store. Lucky for him and/or his friends, Gizmodo blurred out his face before publishing the pictures… and even that might not prevent some firings from this since we KNOW how protective Palm/Sprint have been over the Pre. I’m sure Prelock Holmes is on it now.

PreCentral Pleads To Palm
When I first started the video I thought PreCentral had reached the pinnacle of blogging douchebaggery… thankfully I watched the entire video and it was pretty freaking funny. Pleasantly surprised… nice video Dieter and Co!
