Palm Pre vs iPhone According to AT&T

Like any good sports matchup, whether it be a boxing bout or badminton championship, analysts flock to give pre-game opinions on how it will all play out. For tech fans, the Palm Pre vs. Apple iPhone is quite an interesting matchup and one that will start pretty darn soon. So of course, AT&T has provided their own opinion on the matter and distributed it to AT&T retail locations to help sales people convince potential customers that the iPhone is indeed superior:

Here are some of the points AT&T tries to make:
- iPhone is thinner, lighter with bigger screen and made out of metal not crappy plastic
- iPhone App Store rocks, Palm App Catalog doesn’t even exist yet
- Pre touchscreen sucks and is confusing
- Pre cannot sync, iPhone + iTunes = golden
- Pre is CDMA and can’t do world roaming, iPhone can
There really isn’t too much to dispute here and it is a smart move for AT&T to put this document out. Basically they are educating their associates on the benefits of the Pre with a pro-iPhone agenda that is completely warranted. Do we agree with their assessment? Meh… their detractions are minor at best but they’ve got to TRY to pick apart the Pre, as hard as it seems.

You have to see precentral…it is lit up with comments all of a sudden there are iphone users on the site. like never before. I didn’t see that much action when the storm or the bold came out. Tthe Pre doesn’t have the compete when it come to value, technology and having everything on a phone its supposed to have and not wait 2 years to supply their users with. We will keep getting better while they play catch up.
Flood the Apple boards guys…be kind but lets show them what this thing can do, or rather what the iphone can’t do.

1. I don’t know about the iphone but I never thought the “quality” metal used for my ipod could get so scratched, WITH THE CASE!
2. iPhone app store sucks and restricts apps, people need to jailbreak for any benefit, whilst classic will bring over 100 000+ quality apps
3.Have they tried it??? I’m sorry but if that confuses you, it’s a problem with your brain, not the phone
4. Synergy will probably be much better than syncing and iTunes != good
5. Give them time, + if you do enough traveling that you need this feature, you would probably get a Blackberry World edition instead of the iphone
Anyways, AT&T just wishes they had the Pre!
