Pre Launch Window Narrows

by PalmWebOS.org on April 15th, 2009

Only two days ago we got wind of some “internal memos” at Sprint that suggested there were TWO launch dates set by Sprint for the Palm Pre: May 17th and June 29th. The first was the primary target with the second being a back up contingency plan in case shipment volumes were not met. Well, the rumor mill has now increased the chances that this is spot on.

pre-release-date

The above picture shows internal Sprint documentation with required delivery dates for various products, including the Palm Pre on May 16th. Who are these deliveries to? Probably from the warehouses to the retail stores, meaning Sprint wants them ready to sell on May 16th or 17th. Then again Palm is sticking to their “1st Half of 2009″ statement so the window has effectively narrowed to between May 16th and June 30th.

This middle of May thing is starting to look good. Really good. I can almost taste it. Mmmmm Pre-licious.

I would like to believe it but on that “document” it says two lines above to remove the renegade V 950 and its April 15,2009 and it is still on the website. We’ll just have to wait and see

I am so excited about the release of the Pre. It’s like waiting for Christmas. I’m waking up every morning checking the website for a release date on my email alert. Watching the demos so I’m ready and able to work the phone once it’s delivered.

I work at a Sprint store and I am so excited for this phone to come out. I keep hearing all these proposed released dates. I have came to the idea that the Pre is not going to be releases until after the 6th of June. Either this or there is not going to be a rebate on this phone because the rebate form sent to us has no mention of the PRE. This form is good until the sixth of june. We ussually get new ones about 6 days before the new card is valid.
